Red Sox: Boston will open its 2022 season at home on March 31, when the Red Sox take on the Rays for three games in four days. It begins a stretch of 11 days during which they’ll meet AL East foes for nine consecutive games, as they host the O’s for three before heading to the Bronx on April 7 to kick off the 2022 edition of the Red Sox-Yankees rivalry. In Interleague Play, the Giants (April 15-17), the Padres (May 3-4) and the D-backs (Aug. 1-3) are slated to travel to Northeast Ohio, while Cleveland will play the Rockies (June 14-16), Dodgers (June 17-19) and Padres (Aug. 23-24) on the road. Royals: The Royals open the 2022 season in Cleveland, facing the “Guardians” for the first time. The Red Sox (April 11-13) and Yankees (April 19-21) both visit Comerica Park in the opening month, part of a challenging early schedule.
